I was compelled to calculate my carbon footprint after reading the article. The results appalled me:
• Your footprint is 5.59 tonnes per year
• The average footprint for people in India is 1.20 tonnes
• The average for the industrial nations is about 11 tonnes
• The average worldwide carbon footprint is about 4 tonnes
• The worldwide target to combat climate change is 2 tonnes
We all contribute to the warming every day in form of our choices of heating, travel, water usage, garbage disposal etc..
Its therefore important to calculate your personal impact and the ways in which you can reduce the size of your carbon footprints..
